Mr. Adel Bilah
Mr. Adel Mohammed Ali Bilah is a member of AMB Board of Directors, as well as a representative for AGFUND.
He serves as Chief Executive Officer of Ebdaa Microfinance Bank in Sudan, an affiliate of AGFUND Initiative. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Aljazeera University in Sudan (1993), and has long experience in developmental work.
He worked with UNDP as part of selected area development projects in various areas of Sudan between 1993 and 2001.
His diverse experience includes work with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rural Development Program of South Kordofan. Through this program, he co-founded Bara’ah Microfinance Foundation as the first rural MFI and led the foundation until Mid-2013. He was selected a member of AGFUND Initiative to establish Ebdaa Microfinance Bank in Sudan, and has since the end of 2013 been serving as CEO of the Bank. During this period, he contributed, as part of AGFUND Team of Experts, to the provision of technical assistance to a number of banks affiliated with the initiative, through his service in BODs of Ebdaa banks in Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon and Sierra Lion, as well as the National Bank in Jordan and AMB in Yemen. He currently serves as Supervisor of Ebdaa Bank in Mauritania, as well as Chairman of the BOD of Ebdaa Bank in Syria. He has long experience in capacity building as he is a certified trainer with the International Training Center of International Labor Organization (ILO) in microfinance and value chains. He is also a certified trainer with Sanabel Network and many other international organizations in youth training and risk management.
